Social media marketing; content & value creation

With the advancement of social media technology, social media is also becoming an integral part of consumer business organizations. (Kim, Kyung Hoon2021, p. 627-629)  Social media marketing is gradually developing as an essential link for social users to discuss, exchange information, and create content. Different social media platforms are used by users in different ways, as shown in the figure below.

Taking advantage of social media’s open and transparent information, businesses could create value from content marketing to attract target customers. By posting content that users like, it captures their attention and resonates with them, allowing them to spontaneously copy and spread to disseminate that marketing content.(Ding, Taiyan ; Zhu, Kejing,2020

The types of content marketing are social media content marketing, paid ad content marketing and blog content marketing, etc. For social media content marketing, there are many resources on social media platforms to create a content calendar to plan how to advertise the product reasonably and effectively. For blog content marketing, many important messages can be delivered to the target customers and used to communicate directly with them to build an emotional connection.

Different types of customer values have diverse and different characteristics, so companies can match the needs of their customers according to the characteristics of different customer values to understand their needs in depth. Instrumental value, experimental value, progressive value and cost value are the four types of customer values. Individual consumers are the providers of critical operational resources in business-customer interactions, and as such, they are essential players in the value co-creation network. (Vargo,Lusch, 2008).

I must say that you did bring up some really good points in terms of the different types of social media use by people (in regard to you chart) and the types of social media marketing used by marketers and content creators. As a marketing student, I do agree with the points you’ve raised in terms of how people create content on social media platform to attract different types of people online. However, in reading your blog, I found myself wanting more explanation and descriptions on the points you’ve raised and sometimes found myself seeking your reasoning behind the points you’ve brought up.
